Por Cristo Foundation, Inc. is registered in the Security Exchange Commission(SEC) as a non-profit charitable institution dedicated to serve the poorest of  the poor.  It runs a home for the abandoned elderly that sits on a 7,443 sq. m. lot in Barangay Abilan, Buenavista, Agusan Del Norte. Dormitories for the male and female including a multi-purpose hall had been built to replace the makeshift cottages made of light materials.  Programs and   services were standardized in 2013 paving for the accreditation by DSWD.

       The Foundation thrives mainly with the support of the Diocese of Butuan and local sector with occasional financial assistance from PCSO and DSWD.  POR CRISTO’s Board of Trustees is under the permanent chairmanship of the Bishop of the Diocese of Butuan.

     The Home for the Abandoned Elderly is a residential care facility which caters to abandoned, neglected, unattached, homeless senior citizens either male or female. It provides twenty-four (24) hour residential care services as an alternative form of family care.
